Poor Guacamole has developed a urinary infection 
He’s straining to pee and only goes a little bit and tries a bunch of different times. In a bunch of different places that rarely include the litter box. The poor guy. We put out a laundry basket because we know he likes to pee in that. I read online that affected cats prefer cool, smooth surfaces like a tile floor to urinate on. And the basket is better than our kitchen floor.
I looked all over and mostly found out that feline lower urinary tract disease can be a fatal, 50% of vet examinations can’t tell you the cause of the infection, and the antibiotics prescribed by the vets have terrible side effects on the cats. It truly becomes fatal if the blockage cannot be removed and the cat is urinating blood or nothing at all. Since poor Guacamole can still get pee out, we’re pretty sure that it’s a mild infection and we’re going to treat it with some homeopathic remedies before we take him off to the vet.
I did a bunch of reading about this situation and I read that apple cider vinegar works WONDERS with cats, not only on urinary infections but also conjunctivitis. So I called Mark at home and told him everything I read. He changed all the water right away, went to the store, and bought wet food & apple cider vinegar. So, I’ll start administering the apple cider vinegar with Guac when I get home tonight and hopefully he’s feeling better by the time we go out of town this weekend.
And, I also ready that a daily dose of apple cider vinegar for people helps with weight loss (of course in combo with eating right & exercise).
